why the bcm
"After Welcome Week during my freshman year, I knew the BCM was going to be my home at UT. An organization that would put so much effort into wanting me to be a part of it and offering me so many opportunities to meet other new students as well as some upperclassmen had to be special. It is. I've played sports with these people, prayed with them, learned with them, and laughed with them. The BCM has helped me grow closer to God and meet others who wish to do the same. It has allowed me to make mistakes and learn from them. It has helped me do college, given me a place to relax, and even a place to live. This is a blessed building, and I consider myself blessed by each person in it. If you want to see God work, step inside. He'll blow your mind." - Mark Jennings, Junior
“Coming in as a Freshman at the University of Tennessee, I was immediately overwhelmed with the task of finding my niche in such a big university. Different organizations began jockeying for my attention, but the BCM was where I found my home. Through my involvement in the BCM I found a group of friends that will love and support me in everything I do, and help me to grow in my spiritual life. What I like most about the BCM is that its always open for whatever I need in my daily school life. It allows for a quiet study environment if you need a place to collect your thoughts, or if you want to hang out with some of the most fun people you will ever meet, the BCM is perfect for that as well. The BCM helped me survive my Freshman year of college and laid a foundation of spiritual growth that will continue for my remaing years. It helped make the transition to college life easy and fun, and I'm so glad that I got involved with the BCM.”
- Aaron Bruce, Sophomore
“The BCM means so much to me! It is almost like a home away from home. The B is where I met all my wonderful roommates and so many more of my close friends. The B is a place where I can always be myself. A place where I can go to. . . worship my Lord during TNT, attend fun socials like the Barn Party, find out more about missions, actually do missions during school breaks, be involved in ACE events, eat with a lot of people during Noon Day, just hang out, study, take a break from life, or even nap between classes. Something is always going on at the BCM, which I love! Where else could I be a mother of thirteen beautiful children by the age of 20 through "family groups" at the BCM?”
